1. Komodo Island, Indonesia



Many people dislike lizards. They look pretty scary and the bigger they are, the scarier they will be. There are also people who are also phobia about lizard. However, not all people dislike lizards. There are people that really adores and have a keen interest on lizards. Some even live with these lizards.
Imagine if you live in a place where there are lizards surrounding the area. Much more, these lizards are tremendously huge, as big as a size of a lion and they are crawling around the area. You can have all that if you live in Komodo Island.
Komodo Island is one of 17,508 island that form the Republic of Indonesia. The island is particularly notable as being the natural habitat of the komodo dragon, the largest lizards on earth, which was named after the island itself. The island is the location of the only of the Komodo National Park in the world.
The Komodo National Park was founded in 1980 in order to protect the komodo dragons. It was declared as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO and the New Seven Wonders of Nature. The park was establish as a to conserve the habitat of komodo dragons and at the same time provide a safe environment for these creatures.
Besides being popular as the habitat of komodo dragon, the komodo island is also popular destination for diving. The island also had a unique beach that has pink coloured sands, where there are only seven in the world. The sand appears pink because it it’s a mixture of red sands and white sands.
The Komodo Island had been a tourist attraction especially for researchers who attempts to study about the komodo dragon. The Komodo Island has the same attraction like other tourism destination in Indonesia but what differ the island from the others is the existence of the komodo dragon that inhabit the island. Maybe for some people, it is not a good place to go but Komodo Island have its own uniqueness that cannot be found anywhere else.
